Conspiracy
Chemical and biological weapons are no piece of cake to build, and with the current debate over Saddam Hussiens alleged holding of such weapons of mass destruction it's not hard to see why the U.S would want to cover up the truth behind the Columbia shuttle disaster.
Creating such weapons in space is a much disguised truth in chemical and biological warfare. With no gravity, molecules, particles and atoms can moved and chemical experiments performed much easier. heat and light exposure can be more easily controlled and so on. The crew of Columbia were on a scientific mission and whether or not all of them were aware of it. A new biological weapon was being experimented with in the shuttle.
Of course the U.S government officaial that knew about said experiments would be very secretive about the whole affair. with the escalating situation with Iraq it is clear that if such weapons were being manufactured it is the last thing that america would want the UN to discover.
So what happens if the new biological weapon was accidently released. Contaminating the crew. Or, what if the said weapon was purposley released onto the crew to test its effectiveness. The disease would surely not be allowed to spread on return of the space crew so whether planned or as a procautionary measure the shuttle Columbia was destroyed upon re-entry by the U.S government. All traces of the disease were destoryed in the process and made to look like an accident. |
